The Founder
Miles Jesu was founded by Very Rev. Alphonsus Maria Duran, MJ. As a missionary sent from Spain to the Southwest United States in 1958, Fr. Duran became one of the founders of the Cursillo movement in the United States, giving more than 200 Cursillos to 7,000 people.

The History
Miles Jesu began in 1964 as a group of lay professionals in Phoenix, Arizona. These men lived in community to develop their spiritual and apostolic lives. In 2000, Miles Jesu received a special approval from the Vatican, transferring its headquarters to Rome.

Miles Jesu's unique and highly-selective formation for the priesthood instills a staunch fidelity to the Pope, a profound love for the official teachings of the Church, and a great devotion and care for the Blessed Sacrament.

The Seminary

Membership
Today, including all levels of membership, Miles Jesu has grown to more than 4000 members in 22 countries... There are Miles Jesu Bishops, priests, celibate community members, and lay apostles, both single and married. All together they form one international faith-family.
